WIND FORECAST SARDINIA
Sardinia is an island in the middle of the Mediterranean and, as an island, the wind forecasts changes almost daily. Moreover in South Sardinia there are many local factors, such as thermal wind and Venturi effect, that often make the wind stronger than expected, especially in Punta Trettu and Porto Botte where both phenomena happen.
Which wind forecast to look at? The best way to know the wind forecast in Sardinia, like everywhere else, is certainly to refer to the locals. Thanks to our experience between the southern Sardinian spots we can read the forecasts and know what to expect, to better help you planning great kite sessions.
By comparing Windguru with the local weather forecast, we are able to predict the wind conditions for the next days. Here below you can see the models we use to understand the wind forecast on the kite spots of South Sardinia, especially for Punta Trettu where we usually kite.
Sarah and Daniel run the Kite House and are top hosts. The Location is very nice, the pool perfect and our kids loved it. If the wind at Punta Trettu is not convincing for kiting Daniel knows where to find the spot for thermal winds! The prices for rental are fair and the equipment is very good Ozone stuff. I can fully recommend the Kite House and I am sure we will see us again!
