Chia – Wave Kitesurf Spot in South Sardinia

Chia is located about one hour by car from Kite House Sardinia, in the municipality of Domus de Maria, along one of the most scenic stretches of the south coast of Sardinia. The beach is famous for its white sand, crystal-clear water, sand dunes and Mediterranean vegetation, with lagoons often populated by pink flamingos.

As a kite spot, Chia is especially appreciated for its waves. With East and South-East winds, it becomes an excellent destination for wave kitesurfing, particularly from September to May, when conditions are cleaner and more consistent.

Please note: during the summer season (from mid-June to mid-September), kitesurfing is not allowed directly from the beach due to swimming regulations. A boat lift service is available, allowing riders to kite outside the bay in deep water.

Thanks to its wave-oriented conditions and exposure to East and South-East winds, Chia is particularly suited for riders with solid water skills looking to improve their wave riding technique.

Depending on conditions and availability, we can help organize wave-focused coaching sessions and riding support in collaboration with experienced local riders and coaches who know the spot inside out.

This option is ideal for independent kiters who already ride confidently and want to make the most of Chia’s waves during the autumn, winter and spring seasons.
