Chia is located circa one hour drive from the Kite House, in the municipality of Domus di Maria. The beautiful beach is surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, dunes and ponds with flamingos.

Chia kite spot is much appreciated for its characteristic waves that with East and South-East wind make it the ideal place for wave kitesurf from October till May. Attention because during the summer (from mid-June until mid-September) the practice of kitesurfing from the beach is forbidden, there is available a boat lift service and you can kite out of the bay on deep water.

Main winds

  • The East wind (Levante) and the South-East wind (Scirocco) blow well into the bay (side, side-on) creating beautiful waves.
  • The West wind (Ponente) and South-West (Libeccio) blow quite well from spring to autumn if the sky is not too cloudy.
  • The North-East wind (Grecale) rare and more gusty, can blow here.

So if you want your kid to be at ease, have a fun time BUT also seriously learn how to kite: Mattia is the guy to get as instructor.
