Wing Foil Course in Punta Trettu, Sardinia
The main spots for our wing foil courses, depending on wind direction, are Punta Trettu and other selected locations in South West Sardinia.
These spots guarantee safe and easy learning thanks to flat water, wide open spaces and consistent wind conditions.
Lessons are structured to encourage steady progression while keeping students focused and fresh.
By dividing the course into two-hour blocks, students have enough time to learn each skill without physical overload.
The first hours of the course are more technical and controlled: you will learn how to handle the wing, manage body position on the board and generate speed.
The final sessions are more dynamic, focusing on power generation with the foil and achieving the first sustained glides.
The total time required depends on the studentโs background, attitude, age and wind conditions.
Some students are able to stand up and glide very quickly, while others need more time to build confidence.
If you already practice kite foiling, kitesurfing or windsurfing, many basic concepts will already be familiar, making the learning process faster and more intuitive.

The wing foil course is generally divided into two-hour sessions.
On average, students need around six hours to achieve their first water starts and controlled glides.
According to IWO guidelines, the wing foil course is structured as follows:
We start on land with theory and a complete safety briefing, then move directly into the water.
You will practice wing control and learn how to understand and manage its power.
By using a smaller wing size, we ensure maximum safety and easier progression.
The first step is learning to control the wing with minimal power.
Once this skill is mastered, you will gradually learn how to generate more power.
The final part of the session focuses on getting on the inflatable board (SUP) and managing enough power to complete your first controlled rides.
- Spot and wind evaluation
- Wing handling theory
- Equipment setup and safety check
- Safety rules and emergency systems
- First wing control exercises on the beach or in shallow water
- Board introduction
The second day is fully practical.
We enter the water directly using an inflatable SUP board.
You will learn how to ride upwind, change stance and change direction with control and confidence.
In the second part of the lesson, we introduce the foil board โ a smaller board equipped with a 65 cm carbon mast.
You will learn how to keep the board flat, balance your weight correctly and build speed, discovering your first true foil sensations.
- Riding with inflatable board (SUP)
- Getting on the wing foil board
- Directional riding downwind and first upwind attempts
On the third day, the focus is entirely on the foil board.
You will learn how to generate more power by combining wing control and board handling.
Using a technique called pumping, you will be able to create enough lift to raise the foil and enjoy your first unforgettable glides.
- Pumping technique with board and wing
- Wing foil navigation and first controlled glides
